Privacy Policy

Last updated 30 August 2026

thisfairymade is run by a sole trader based in Manchester, United Kingdom. This page explains what information the site collects, why, and the choices you have. It is written to meet the UK GDPR, the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and, for readers in the EU, the GDPR.

What this site collects

You do not need an account to read anything here, and the patterns never ask for your details. The site remembers a few preferences on your own device (see Cookies). Beyond that, information is only collected in the situations below.

Newsletter

If you join the newsletter, your email address is used only to send you new patterns and occasional updates. It is stored with the email service that sends the newsletter and is never sold or shared for other purposes. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you straight away.

Cookies and similar technologies

Strictly necessary storage. The site stores small settings in your browser so the pattern pages work the way you left them: your US/UK terminology choice, your text-size choice, which row you were on, and your cookie choices themselves. These never leave your device and contain nothing personal.

Optional cookies. The site does not currently run analytics or advertising cookies. If that changes, a consent banner will ask you first and this policy will be updated.

Affiliate links

Some links on this site — particularly in the Materials & Tools sections of patterns — are affiliate links. If you make a purchase through one of these links, I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. I only link to products I genuinely use or would recommend. Affiliate links are marked as sponsored for search engines and do not set cookies on this site; the retailer’s own privacy policy applies once you leave.

Embedded videos

Pattern pages embed YouTube videos in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com), which means YouTube does not set tracking cookies until you press play. Once you play a video, YouTube’s privacy policy applies.

Your choices and rights

  • Newsletter: use the unsubscribe link in any email.
  • Your rights: under the UK GDPR you can ask what personal data I hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, or object to how it is used. Email me and I will reply within one month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.

Hosting

The site is served through Cloudflare, whose servers keep short-lived technical logs (such as IP address and request time) for security and reliability. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

Changes to this policy

If the way the site handles information changes — for example when an advertising partner changes — this page will be updated and the date at the top revised.
